Clark also apprenticed with famed operatic vocal pedagogue, Luisa Franceschi, the only pupil of the great soprano Luisa Tetrazzini. Madame Franceschi counted among her students Zinka Milanov, George London, Eugene Conley and Richard Stillwell.
Clark graduated cum laude from UCLA with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Composition and Theory. He then spent several years studying opera coaching with the celebrated opera coach Jack Metz, as well as accompanying with art song specialist James Low, often performing as staff accompanist at UCLA.
Clark is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), the Music Teachers Association of California (MTAC), and the American Guild of Organists (AGO).
